Spokane Valley police arrest four on drug and firearm charges

SEVERAL NEIGHBORS IN SPOKANE VALLEY WOKE UP TO WHAT SOUNDED LIKE BOMBS AND GUNFIRE THIS MORNING. AS KXLY4’S JACK FERRIS EXPLAINS, IT WAS ALL PART OF A PLAN. JACK STAND UP SOUND SANDRA BRACE :48 WELL I WAS UP AT LIKE NORMAL, AND AT I HEARD AN EXPLOSION, WHICH I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT, IT WAS REALLY LOUD. WHILE SHE HAD A RIGHT TO BE CONCERNED, SANDRA WAS QUICKLY COMFORTED BY THE OVERWHELMING PRESENCE OF SPOKANE COUNTY DEPUTIES AND SWAT TEAM MEMBERS- WHO WERE EXECUTING A NARCOTICS AND FIREARM WARRENT AT A HOME DOWN THE STREET. INITIALLY – THE OPERATION SEEMED SUCCESSFUL AS THREE PEOPLE WERE PULLED FROM THE HOUSE AND DETAINED. HOWEVER AUTHORITIES QUICKELY REALIZED THERE WAS ONE PERSON IN THE HOME NOT ACCOUNTED FOR SOUND MARK GREGORY :36 Being that they believed the individual who was possibly inside was armed and dangerous, the did turn around and introduce chemical agents to get him to surrender. Eventually the SWAT Team did enter the residence and they found him hiding. He was safely taken into custody. AS FOR THE NEIGHBORS – THEY SEEMED TO THINK THE EARLY WAKE UP CALL WAS A LOW PRICE FOR A SAFER NEIGHBORHOOD sound SANDRA :10 Very kind, very professional. They didn’t intimidate me when I came up to ask what’s going on. They let me know. Yeah I felt safe. Reporting from the Spokane Valley Sheriff’s office, Jack Ferris KXLY4 news
