Slow Motion Bullets: How Do Guns Work?

Gunpowder is the oldest known way of creating
explosive energy. In firearms, gunpowder burns and releases
hot gas that propels a projectile at high velocity. Bullets from rifles and handguns can travel
up to several thousand feet/sec. A shotgun fires pellets that spread upon leaving
the gun’s barrel Softer lead bullets expand on impact. While harder, steel bullets are more direct
and penetrate deeper.
