Maintenance Tips for a Sig Sauer 226 9mm Gun : Brushing the Slide Wire of a Sig Sauer 226 9mm Gun

All right, we’ve got the slide here, and you
can see its been soaking most of the day right here in the break free. It?s really been able
to do its job. So, first thing just by habit, I like to clean the bolt face first. And what
I like to do that with is this light steel brush. And I just, once again I just hold
this, slide strait up and down in a vertical fashion. And I’m just going to take this brush
and I’m going to go back and forth all along this bolt face. And you can see real quick,
real easy. Not too hard. Not too soft. And we’re just going to really start to break
this stuff down. The stuff that this break frees been sitting on, this dirt and grime,
is really coming loose now that the break free has had its time. In use and conjunction
with this brush its really getting it. Then I go ahead and I just flip that slide over
onto the bottom. And I just repeat that same motion with this same exact brush here. In
a real light fashion I’ll get the bottom of this bolt. And looking pretty good. Now for
most everything else on this slide I like to use a different brush. I’ll just kind of
look around here and make sure that I’m not getting a lot of grit where I was just using
this. The next thing that I’m going to do, I’m going to actually switch to a different
brush for the rest of the slide.
