Firearms Deer Season Begins Saturday, November 9th

HE HAS 13 CATCHES FOR 115 YARDS AND ONE TOUCHDOWN LAST WEEK.>>>GRAB YOUR BLAZE, ORANGE, IT’S TIME TO HEAD OUTSIDE AND GET YOURSELF A DEER AS FIREARMS SEASON BEGINS TOMORROW MORNING. LAST YEAR 32% OF MINNESOTA HUNTERS HARVESTED A DEER, AND OFFICIALS SAY THAT WITH THE RECENT MILD WINTERS, NUMBERS ARE UP IN THE AREA. THE RECENT COLD WEATHER HAS ALSO KICKED THE DEER INTO THE RUT, WHICH BODES WELL FOR HUNTERS, ESPECIALLY IN THE LOCAL BEMIDJI AREA.>>LAST YEAR THE PERCENTAGE OF DEER SHOT IN THE BEMIDJI AREA WAS BETTER THAN SOME OF THE SURROUNDING. THE BEMIDJI AREA HAS REALLY GOOD HABITAT, AND SO WE HAVE REALLY HIGH DEER NUMBERS. WE’RE SITTING AT SOMEWHERE IN THE 24, 23 TO 24 DEER PER SQUARE MILE RIGHT NOW, WHICH IS QUITE HIGH.>>AJ: AND AS SOMEONE WHO DOESN’T HUNT BUT DRIVES AROUND THE ROADS AND TRIES TO AVOID
