(Airsoft) Unboxing DL-44 Heavy Blaster pistol (custom based on HFC C96 NBB)

Hello YouTube and welcome to this new video ! Today a video a bit different, I’m showing you a custom I bought second hand, made on a C96 HFC base A replica of the real Mauser C96, it’s a NBB model the bolt doesn’t move at all This particular model is full metal, which isn’t necessarily the easiest one to find And as you already noticed the gun has been modified to make it look like the DL44 The DL44 being the blaster used notably by Han Solo in Star Wars So what I have here is a full metal Mauser C96 HFC with 3D printed parts (which have been painted) The 3D printed parts are the flash hider, this part in front of the body which is supposed to be air vent, the scope mount and the scope itself As far as I’m concerned the finish is really not bad The replica itself is full metal but all the 3D printed parts are made of plastic, obviously, which have been painted and it looks really nice When you touch it there is no doubt though, it’s plastic So GG to the precedent owner who really made a nice job, especially with the paint The DL44 is a fictionnal gun from the Star Wars movies, mostly known to be used by Han Solo in A New Hope from 1977 The custom I have reproduces the gun from A New Hope, actually The model used in the other movies was similar but not exactly the same, the scope in particular is different, smaller In the last Star Wars movie released last year, Han Solo uses again this gun But it appears that in the last movie, the gun used as a base is a M712 and not a C96 Also, it’s possible that the gun used is based on an Airsoft model, since you can see a hole under the magazine The original gun from 1977 is made from a Mauser C96, on which they have put a MG81 flash hider The MG81 is a german WWII 7,92×57 machin gun, big stuff mostly used as an aircraft gun The scope is from Hensoldt Wetzlar, which is also a German brand The 3rd element being those fake air vents in front of the body, In the logic of this object you do need air vents in order to cool the gun when it gets hot Since it is 3D printed the scope is a dummy one What is a bit sad is that the precedent owner used a HFC C96 with a long magazine A short magazine would have been better ; they do exist but they’re a bit harder to find It’s not like the gun was really skirmishable anyway, the performances are really poor, we’ll see that in the shooting video Star Wars is known for the “retro futurist” use of WWII weapons There is the Mauser C96 but other guns have been used too Sterling SMG used by Stormtrooper for example MG34 also used by Stormtroopers There is a lot of examples like this It gives a very unique look to the guns used in Star Wars which I find to be really well made It doesn’t “really” look Sci Fi, they look like actual guns and I find it easier to believe that they actually make sense You can also note that in the original trilogy, the actors are using models which are actually loaded with blanks If you look closely in a lot of battle scenes, you can see that the weapon cycle and you can even see empty cases flying In that scene in the Empire Strikes back, you can see smoke, lights, spent cases flying, etc You can even tell that Harrison Ford flinches a bit when he shots, which in general is a good way to tell if the actor is actually shooting or not Or if it’s just post production effects In comparison, in more recent movies (and for example the latest Star Wars), the actors are only pretending to shoot and I find it to be quite obvious Especially when they pretend to have recoil, when their face stays still all the time If they were actually using blasters (even though they don’t exist), I would assume they’d be noisy, they would have recoil, etc It makes the whole shooting and whole battle scenes less believable to me Here is a close up to show you, even from a close point of view it stays nice to look at Here you have the double action trigger You can cock the hammer manually You also have a safety The scope and its mount Then again it’s a custom model, but I remember a few months ago that WE posted pictures of a similar replica on their Faebook page The model made by WE is supposed to be a M712 GBB Replica, with a moving bolt which will stay blocked to the rear when the magazine gets empty We don’t really know if the DL44 model shown is supposed to be a unique custom made for fun or if they will produce it I’m not sure what will happen, but a GBB replica of the C96 would be cool already I think I said pretty much everything I had to say, then again what I have here is a custom model made from a NBB HFC C96 with 3D printed custom parts I’ll make a shooting video of the gun, even though there is nothing exceptionnal about it when it comes to the shooting part Obviously, the whole point of this thing is to be a nice goodie for Star Wars fans Thanks for watching and see you next time for the shooting video

  1. I love the weathered look of it! It would be really cool if the guy who made this made Deckard's blaster from Blade Runner next.

  10. You don't get recoil on a laser gun, as it is not based on kinetic energy, but rather energy particles themselves are the damage mechanism.

I'M HAN SOLO, I'M HAN SOLO
    I'M HAN SOLO, I'M HAN SOLO~SOLO~SOLO~

  12. argh l'erreur
    (MG42, FG42, KAR98K, GERWHER 42, …)

  13. http://airsoft.tiger111hk.com/m317/Armorer-Works/p32524/ARMORER-WORKS-M712-Star-Wars-Han-Solo-DL-44-GBB-Pistol/product_info.html , you better get one Khanseb !!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is the WE DL 44 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. The WE GBB M712 that you refer to already came out, it's released by Armorer Works, it's compatible with WE mags, and it has full metal hardware (scope, flash hider, etc). Do you plan on reviewing it anytime soon?
