9mm Hand Gun Operation & Safety : How To Unload A Handgun

I’m going to drop the magazine to take any
ammunition that may be in here out. That thread is gone because there’s not any more rounds
in there besides the one that should be in the chamber. Now, I want to take the one out
of the chamber. At this point here, all I’m going to do is come up and flip that down.
That’s going to decock my firearm without sending my round down range. It won’t fire
because that’s the mechanism of the way it’s designed. A block so to speak. A block comes
up and it disengages the fire pin from the hammer so it will not engage the firing pin,
which in term will make the round fire. Now that that weapon is pretty much safe, I still
have a round in there that I want out. In a clear and safe direction all I’m going
to do is again, I’ll hold a weapon straight up and I’ll come over like this or you can
go like this, whatever you’re comfortable with. Me, I like to get a grip on it here,
and all I’m going to do is very sternly pull the weapon to the rear. Once I do that, that
round if it’s in there is going to be ejected. I’m going to pull it to the rear, the round
is ejected. Once that round is ejected, then I’m going to lock my slide to the rear, make
sure my mag is out, and I’m going to do a physical check. Stick my finger. Can I get
in the barrel? Yes, I can. That tells me there’s no obstruction. I’m going to go down in here
and check. Everything is clear. Now, I just load it and unload at my firearm in a safe
manner. No one was in danger. I didn’t point a loaded weapon at anyone. These are considerations,
depending upon where you are. If you’re in a firing range, if you’re in your home. You
always want try to get to the safest place possible to load and unload a firearm.

  1. Sorry, but these lessons are just not clear enough. He needs to explain in DETAIL about the slide and how to engage it and release it and when exactly.

"Pull the weapon back", uhhh I think you mean pull the SLIDE back. Geez.

The whole thing is just not completely clear. Firearm safety lesson videos should be ABSOLUTELY CLEAR and CORRECT with no room for error – or don't bother at all!

  2. im gona inspect it with my little finger
    (SNAP slide relese lets go)
AHHHHHHHHH F*** S*** C**** and thats how you do it

  3. @killercloud345
where did you shoot yourself exactly? with a 9mm? and can you explain the pain a bit more? is it like a burning, a broken bone or something like that?

Oh and i was being stupid and pointed it the ground like in the videogames :P. (no more char)

  5. That's a cool gun, I want to hold it really bad now for some odd reason. I'm going to ask my mommy if I can have a gun for my 10th birthday!

  6. I have a short 55 second video of me unloading a gun too – its not as great as yours, but i do stress that ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED. Keep up the great work!

  7. you should not put your finger in the barrel like that because if you hit the slide unlock, your finger will be ripped straight off. i know this because a close friend of mine made that mistake and he regrets it. the rest is ok

your could avoid sticking your finger in the barrel to check by making sure one bullet comes out and loading and clearing again, or simply clearing then shooting at your target ounce more when it is loaded to make sure nothing is in the chamber

  9. This was a lot of help, I've always had revolvers. Recently bought a FNP 40 and these are a lot more complicated to operate than the rather simple revolver.

  10. After 3 years. Well. I was trying to act like a videogame character and run with it pointed down. Never do that.

  11. cant really remember. It has been about 5 years. (went to Wikipedia) I think it was 9×19mm Parabellum.

  12. this man was indicted on criminal charges of 2nd degree robbery and attempted murder on July 23, 2011. he is currently serving his 6 year sentence, will be released next year.

  13. No one in danger? Why under any sircumstance you would have the trigger back while unloading a fire arm and then hit the trigger without removing the last bullet? Totally unsafe. You need to get yourself educated on this
