10 INSANE Weapons Invented by the German Army!

Nazi Germany was a full-fledged war
machine with the extensive use of the blitzkrieg war strategy
the Nazis managed to conquer a huge part of Europe with a minimum loss of
manpower but they were able to do this because of their advanced weaponry many
of their weapons were later adopted and developed by other countries but luckily
for us the Allied forces were able to crush the Nazi army before some of these
inventions were able to see the light of day in battle here are 10 weapons
invented by the Nazis stay tuned in number one to find out which one could
have single-handedly changed the course of world war 2 number 10 the horton 2 to 9 the horton 2
to 9 became famous as the first stealth bomber ever the prototype for this Nazi
weapon was created by Hermann Goering who wanted to make a lighter aircraft
powered purely by jet engines Goering had the famous three times 1000 plan an
aircraft that would carry 1000 kilograms of bombs travel 1,000 kilometers per
hour and to reach the distance of 1000 kilometers Horton 2 to 9 was allegedly
equipped with stealth technology it had a sleek design and apparently it
was very hard to detect via radar the initial test proved very successful but
there were some problems that the Germans needed to fix they spend the
entire year of 1944 to come up with a better design and operational features
for this aircraft when a model took off in February 1945 disaster struck one of
the jet engines caught fire and just stopped working
the pilot initially survived the crash but died a couple of weeks later due to
his injuries at this point that Nazi forces were working against the clock
because the Allies were closing in on them and they didn’t have enough time to
further develop the ordinary aft however they continued working on it
until the Allied forces were able to confiscate it it finally landed in the
hands of the US Armed Forces who used it in developmental research for their own
stealth aircraft number nine Zilber at 12:29 this military device which is also
known as the vampyre scope was an infrared attachment for the Sturm guerre
assault rifle the main purpose for this device was to be used during the night
when visibility is very low with it attached to their assault rifle German
soldiers were practically able to see in the dark
considering the time it was created this is one of the most advanced pieces of
military equipment ever invented the vampyre night vision was first used
pretty late in the war in the winter of 1945 there were some experiments a
couple of months prior to this but it wasn’t anything serious when it was
introduced full-time 310 German units receive this device if it had been
introduced some time earlier it might have had more of an impact on German
military success because it enabled a soldier to move around and shoot in
pitch dark places such as caves but also in forests and mountain ranges with or
without the moonlight however because it came into being in the early days of
1945 it was luckily too late for any type of mass production nevertheless the
device definitely worked well number 8 kugelblitz kugelblitz or ball lightning
as it could be translated was an anti-aircraft gun with a rotating turret
my 1943 it was clear to the German commanders that they had to come up with
an effective anti-aircraft weapon the reason was simple by that time the
German Air Force simply didn’t have enough power to stand against the
increasing attacks of the Allied bombers the Allies were gaining supremacy in the
air and the only way to find them was from the ground thus the Germans started
building several types of self-propelled guns for anti-aircraft warfare which
could be mounted on a panzer 4 chassis that is how the kugelblitz came into
being it had the basic structure of the panzer 4 tank the chassis was the same
and the turret was mounted on it a highly effective aspect of the
kugelblitz is that it could go around its axis 360 degrees again the problems
with frequent allied attacks combined with the need to defend on several
fronts prevented the Germans from placing the cuca blitz in the mass
production there were only 5 prototypes and allegedly they were all used in the
Battle for Berlin number 7 fallschirmjäger fallschirmjäger or
parachute hunter is the name of the german paratroopers although the idea
for using paratroopers didn’t originally come from Germans they are responsible
for introducing them into combat this is because the german paratroopers were the
first such military units to be used in airborne operations on a large scale
they were very effective so much so that the Allied soldiers refer to them as the
Green Devils the first airborne units were created in the 1930s at the behest
of Hermann Goering who wanted to include these units into the regular German air
force german paratroopers were an important part of the occupation of
several European countries including Denmark Norway Belgium Netherlands and
France but they were also employed by the Italian and Balkan campaigns as well
as on the Eastern Front they were also known to perform successful raids and
covert actions becoming an integral part of the German army number six where
Gustav this weapon is also known as the great Gustav and it was the biggest
cannon ever built but also the biggest cannon ever used in combat this massive
weapon was being developed in the late 1930s and its main purpose was to
destroy the major French fortifications on the famous Maginot Line and thus
weaken the French defenses the Maginot Line had the strongest defenses at the
time and it was crucial to create a weapon so strong to literally annihilate
the Maginot Resistance and provide an easy access for German troops when fully
assembled great Gustav weighed one thousand three hundred and fifty tons
and was capable of firing seven ton shells up to thirty miles the original
plan was to prepare the cannon for the Battle of France but they were not able
to meet that deadline the German army decided to go without it and when they
experienced an initial success and the Maginot Line collapsed there was no need
to rush things so the making of the Gustav was
prolonged it was finally ready for the siege of sevastopol in 1942 Gustav
proved very useful but in April 1945 the Nazis decided to destroy it so that it
wouldn’t fall into the Allied hands number five Fritz X Fritz X is a German
armor-piercing bomb that was precision guided it is generally considered to be
one of the very first smart bombs in modern warfare it was designed to be an
anti-ship glide bomb and was the first of such to sink a ship in battle fritz X
was operated radio command system via joystick n it
proved very effective in combat this bar managed to take down several merchant
ships such as the Royal Navy ship Uganda and the US Cruiser Savannah however it
achieved its greatest success by taking down the Italian battleship Romo and
damaging the battleship italia on September 9th 1943 as they were going
toward the Allied forces to surrender the magazines on the Roma exploded and
it soon sink but its sister ship Italia although badly hit managed to reach the
coast of Tunisia soon after the initial success of fritz
X though the Allies began developing their own electronic countermeasures to
try and keep Fritz X at bay and by the time of the Normandy invasion the Allies
had air supremacy they were able to block German electronic ordinances
making Fritz X practically useless number four flattener F 1 282 the
colibri or hummingbird as it was also known was a single-seat German
helicopter the first mass-produced helicopter ever this helicopter was
actually an improved version of a model the Germans had been working on
initially the idea wasn’t to use this helicopter in combat its primary use was
to transport objects from ship to outpost patrols and scouting missions
but as the war moved on there were thoughts about using the FI 282 on the
battlefield as well at first there was only room for one soldier but the
improved b2 version of the chopper had an additional position at the rear
this version proved highly effective in spotting enemy artillery posts the
helicopter was also excellent when it came to operating in bad weather which
was a signal for the German Air Ministry to go into mass production of this unit
in 1944 of the German command ordered 1,000 units to be manufactured by BMW
whose Munich Factory was producing German army aircraft at the time the
production started but only 24 helicopters were made because air raids
by the Allied forces resulted in destruction of the BMW facilities number
three stg44 Sturm go where 44 or assault rifle
44-inch was the first weapon with a shorter cartridge which enabled a
soldier to control automatic fire compared to the standard used by
infantry soldiers at the time it was very effective and influential because
it assured in a new era of assault rifles and automatic weapons Sturmgewehr
44 is the first assault weapon of its kind to be mass-produced
it is generally considered one of the most important technical advancements in
smokeless powder because of its reduction in muzzle impulse this is also
one of the most important military inventions by Nazi Germany not because
its impact on the war but because of its later influence the operational
principles of this assault rifle can be seen in collision a calms a k47
as well as the famous m16 number two Panzer 4 this was one of the most
heavily used tanks in the German army it was a medium tank developed in the 1930s
and produced 8500 units Panzer 4 was a reliable piece of
military equipment as it was the only tank to be continually produced during
the war it was regularly upgraded and improved panzer 4 took around 30 percent
of Germany’s total tank power it served on both the Western and Eastern Front as
well as in North Africa considering all the technical aspects it is absolutely
clear that Panzer 4 was the best German tank at the time On June 6 1944 at the
moment of the Normandy invasion there were 748 Panzer 4 tanks present in
the area and they played a major role in the German resistance against the
advancing Allied forces number 1 v2 rocket this could have easily been the
weapon to change the course of the war but luckily the Nazis didn’t have enough
time on their hands to finish it the initial development and construction of
the v2 rocket started in the 1930s but the weapon didn’t see any battle action
before 1942 the whole idea behind constructing the v2 was to have the
ultimate revenge weapon as the Nazis called it because they were infuriated
by the bombings of German cities in retaliation
the Germans were planning to use v2 and cause destruction on a massive scale on
June 20th 1944 v2 became the first object ever to travel in space from
Earth when it was launched vertically the v2 rocket would rise ten kilometers
into the air and then fall down in a curved path at the speed of almost 6,500
km/h hitting the ground hard and exploding several feet below the surface
it came into use in September 1944 when it was launched against London Antwerp
and Liege where it killed several thousand people however as the Allies
were advancing towards Berlin they managed to capture key manufacturing
points in Germany and eventually all the members from the v2 team surrendered the
facilities where the v2 was manufactured went to the Soviets who moved production
to the Soviet Union and zero to hero we are definitely glad that the Allied
forces won World War two but the German army definitely has some unique and
deadly weapons that they had invented for the battlefield what weapons did you
think were the most intense let us know in the comments below don’t forget to
subscribe and have a fantastic day

  1. 44 Inch? sorry, I don't usually comment on people with problems in development, but I have to say here, your mom was supposed to abort you. Have a nice day.

  2. For one, the Germans didn't invent all 10 weapons.

Second the "ease" by which any of them could have turned the war is a concept defeated by the fact that none of them came even close to turning the war. The Germans lost the war on many fronts, which is probably the most important topic to discuss.

It all starts with strategic control of the battlefield and that starts with superior tactics not just "better weapons". Every weapon has its strengths and weaknesses and the key is to win within that set of parameters. We could have given the Nazis F-16s and A-10s and they still would have lost because somehow the Nazis would have either fucked up their deployment and use or the Allied air force would have destroyed them on the ground, killed all their pilots and destroyed their fuel-supply.

That plus the wonderful irony that the Germans would have to fight the Russians at a 3:1 disadvantage, the entire time that they retreated west from Kursk.

  3. Okay,
so this Video is horrible. You may ask yourself why (hopefully not) so here are just a few things:

    10. The Horten 229 wasnt planned to be a Bomber there was just not enough space for any Bombing Sight, because of that Big Nose Gear.

    9. The ZF Zielgerät 1229 was able to brighten up darker Areas, but its just a Light intensifier like every "Nightvisiongoggle" so its impossible to see something in caves if there is not a single lightsource. Even with a Generation 3 NVG you wont be able to see anything in completely dark areas.

    8. First thing at 4:13 this is a Coelian. You can identify it at the Chassis from the "SDKFZ 171" or more his Field name "PanzerKampfWagen V Panther" and you can clearly see it on the completely different turret that doesnt look like a "Ball" like you would call it. The Second thing on this one is, that it wasnt something "New" to the German Flakpanzer or Self-Propelled-Anti-Air-Gun that the Turret can go around 360° espacially on the PZKPFW 4 Chassis here are just a few others that are also able to do that: Flakpanzer 4 "Wirbelwind"; Flakpanzer 4 "Ostwind".
The real thing why the Kugelblitz was something New and great was because it had a Completely Closed Fighting Compartment and a new Belt-Feed system not like all the Others with Magazines and Frames and by the way Belt-Feed systems are still used today in Anti Aircraft Guns.

    7. okay, gonna say nothing bout that.

    6. 6:54 why are using a Picture from another Rail Tracked Based Artillery Gun if you used all the Times Pictures from the Real one.

    5. So far so good.

     4. Germany had 4 Choppers that they used in WW 2: The Flettner FI 184, The Flettner 282 Kolibri, The Focke-Achgelis FA 223 Drache and The Focke-Wulf Fw 61.
The FA 223 Drache was actually one of the few Choppers that was used during WW 2. It had much more in common, so i dont know why you chose the Flettner 282 Kolibri, because it wasnt even used. The Unit from the Kriegsmarine (Navy) who tested it was disbanded in Juli 1944 because they needed ther Resources for more Bf 109´s

Thanks for reading, i didnt had time for more right now but please take it as an Constructive Critcism and not hate or some stuff, but Please try to put more work in your research because you misinfrom People.

Oh yeah and By the way sorry for some grammatical Errors because my Main Language is German not english.

  4. The didn't design the Horton to be a stealth bomber. The had no idea that it's radar reflection would be so low.

  5. Hitler made four major blunders: 1. Attacking Russia was just plain stupid. 2. Using up massive amounts of money on ridiculous unusable weaponry and personal projects 3. Killing Jews. 4. Sinking supply ships sent to Britain Brought the US into the war. Hitler was insane, he never had a chance to win the war. GlennFHoward

  6. if you look at ken arnold drawing of UFO it is the Horton 229. Lockheed Skunk Works built several. above top secret!

  7. You left out the flying saucers you left out Antarctica and you left out the fact that Hitler lived until he is 59 years old.

  8. Nationalist Socialist were the good guys. The real enemy is someone else who made peaceful revolution impossible.

  9. So full of crap you'd swear this was "Alternative facts" pulled out of Trump's cavernous A-hole.

  10. It would've been informative, but (as pointed in comments) there are too many factual errors in this video.

  11. Maybe designs of the E-50 and E-100 tanks to replace the Tigers and other than German tanks have been forgotten. Though plans for the E-100 was to have it fitted with night vision sights.

  12. You missed a few:
MG 42 – still used today.
PKW 5 (Panther) – sloped armor, wide tracks, 75mm high-velocity gun.
    Me 262 (Schwalbe) – cannon-armed, 100 mph faster than a P-51D.
….and the spankiest uniforms in the world.

  13. Your talk about Panzer lV but you showed M 60 tank Your fucking idiot Also You say that V2 wasnt used but you just said it was used

  14. You Sir, should be sued for distributing Bullshit… Get your facts straight and take this joke of a Video offline.

  15. An INSANE Weapon was the atomic bomb of the Americans. Too bad that the bomb was not finished faster, then the Americans would have used it against the Germans. The Germans deserve the bomb even more than the Japanese!

  16. The most appalling thing about this video is that he thinks literally anything could have allowed the Germans to win. They were doomed from the start and they tried and failed to fix it with technology

  17. Speaking About the Kugelblitz showinf a Picture of the Coelian and saying it could be mounted on a Panzer IV and showing a Panzer V Panther

  18. Actually, initial Nazi success on the Western Front in 1940 was due, to quite a large degree, to the Czechoslovak tanks they were handed on a platter by the cowardly behaviour of the British and French. These tanks – the T-35 and T-38 – were better armoured, better armed, and faster than contemporary German designs.

In reality, Nazi Germany was NEVER "…a full-fledged war machine." The German economy went to three shift production briefly during the attack on Western Europe, then went back to single shift, 48 hour weeks. They only went back to full on, three shift, production during the later part of the Second War, by which time it was too late to make any difference.

The fact is that Hitler's Germany operated rather like the court of a prince in Renaissance Italy – the person who was the last to get the Fuhrer's ear was the guy whose program, be it ever so bizarre or pointless, got the go-ahead. Weapons development was chaotic, while production and deployment were ineffective. For instance, vast amounts of time, energy and resources were wasted on Porche's daft super tank and electric tank projects, because Mr A. Hitler liked them…

And every program was subject to the Fuhrer's whims. Examples include his insistence that the Me-262 should be a fighter bomber, which delayed its deployment and reduced its effectiveness. Then there was the ludicrous situation where the German high command(OKW) had to CONCEAL the development and production of the Sturm Gewehr 44 from Mr A. Hitler, because he didn't like it… Again, the deployment of the weapon was delayed and its effectiveness greatly diminished.

  19. I've watched a few of your videos, and you sound like you know what you're putting out but you don't know shit.

  20. so, the truth is, kalishnakov took the blueprints from a weapons plant, and when he heard the military were looking for a weapon, he forwarded the blueprint to the military, and he won the contract. not a lot of people know about that. i dont know why he took the blueprint maybe because he thought it was cool idk

  21. V-1 Buzz bomb was superior to the V-2 as it was far cheaper to make and deploy.
Their unit cost was 5% of a V-2 rocket and travel farther than the V-2 that had a 50% failure rate.
The V-2 had zero accuracy as well. The V-1 could be launched from aircraft.
Both weapons had the same war head of 2000 pounds. as it came to its target the Allies had to divert ground defenses and fighter aircraft to shoot it down.

  22. ." The Flying Pancake" or "Flying Flapjack" seen in one of the "Indiana Jones" movies, was an after war copy of the Sack 1, Sack 2, 3 & 4 single engine German planes !! #10) The YB 49 was another copy of the Horton 229.The YB 49 was a propeller driven plane .Secretary of the Air Force Symington killed it because he wanted it to be built by people he was politically indebted to. The company that designed wouldn't agree to giving their rights to the plane.

  23. "F-one 282"? "F-i 282"? Uhh, no… FLettner 282.

And SG-44 is referring to the year of introduction. It's not an "assault weapon": it's an actual assault rifle.

And the 7.92mm Kurz round debuted in the MKb-42, fully 2yr before.

"reduced muzzle impulse"? IDK what that even is, but it's not the key gain of the 7.92mmK round: that was reduced recoil.

V-2s were an enormous waste of resources. Using something so expensive to deliver a 2000pd warhead was ridiculous.

  24. 11:05 The picture is from Tank museum in Hämeenlinna, Finland.
Germans did not use swastika on their tanks.
The finns used this ancient symbol on their aircraft and tanks between 1918-1945.

  25. "Lucky for us the Allied forces were able to crush the Nazi army before some of these inventions were able to see the light of day" Yea lucky for us the German couldn't save Europe from the Communist, Bolsheviks you POS!

  26. The amount of mistakes is ridiculous, and the v2 was a horrible weapon that had little to no strategic value.

  27. In all wars the most effective weapon is the mass media. It does not matter much about the weapons built. It matters where they are aimed and the media does the aiming.

  28. The negative comments made here are unfair on the videomaker. Of course there are inaccuracies of detail. That is so in the best accounts. But least there is genuine material for discussion.

  29. Nuke? Yup. See heros of telemark. Imagine a Nuke warhead on a V1 or v2 and that's a nuclear cruise missile, and a ballistic Nuke. If the kraut had realised they didn't need as much fissile material as they thought they could have had the Bomb before USA. That would have changed a few things. We'd all be dating Blondes, driving Mercedes-Benz, and eating Burgers.. oh..wait a minute…

  30. The person narrating this humbug of a mess has got the world's most annoying whine… bar none. Please, Dear Sir…. just shut the heck up and go fly Field Marshall Gőring's kite..

  31. Some flaws in the video. But yeah, many advances were made in Germany during the war.
Think of the elekroboot submarines, the guided surface to air (eg. rheintochter) and air to surface (eg. Fritz x) weapons (air to air guided missiles were also developed as it became clear that at higher speeds cannon armament became less effective) the mentioned advances in infantry equipment and weaponry, the v1 and v2 missiles which were the first ballistic and cruise missiles used in combat, magnetic anti shipping mines were also a big thing (as well as the guided torpedoes), I wonder why they didn’t talk about the goliath remote controlled explosive carrier or the drache helicopter wich could, due to it’s transport capacity be used for search and rescue and insertion/extraction missions (which were actually planned – don’t know if performed)
Not to forget that they also developed and produced the nerve gasses sarin simian and tabun in industrial quantities (gladly never used) just as a quick overview.

All of that sounds extremely impressive, but just showcases the inefficiencies of the fascist political system, in which counter institutions and permanent infighting were par for the course (every institution and person was made replaceable so that they fell in line for fear of this happening) obedience was the currency of the system.
This extended into the economy and the sciences which led to many groundbreaking inventions, that were in turn blocked by internal opposition (it’s big guy oneupmanship if you will) without truly centralized decision making different agencies supported different projects at all times, which in turn led to delays and misallocation of resources.
Also you can clearly see that many of the advances were born out of the need to amplify strength because of industrial and manpower inferiority compared to the allies.
You don’t need to enhance the strength of individual soldiers if you have many of them, no missiles if you have air superiority, no synthetic fuels if you own the oilfields and no long diving submarines if you rule the waves
This was not a war of tech but of mass production and manpower no one cares if you need 5 shermans for a panther (which is only a statistical truth, and doesn’t reflect real world situations) as long as you can produce 50000 shermans and the other guy only 6000 panthers.
Americans often think that only the Russians played the numbers game, nah, the numbers game won America (as the industrial workhorse) and all the allies the war.

Damn, this is way too long! I got lost in writing watching my steak in the pan…

  32. Quite Possibly the most ignorant and misinformed Video on youtube. absolutely worse than Worthless misinformation I ever wasted my time watching. this was a total joke.

  33. The narrator's 'over the top' and sensationalising of the topics make it unwatchable for me. Also, factually incorrect on a number of occasions.

  34. this is why the world rushed germany to get there stuff before they gave it to the world u dont think we killed all those people to get there first it was not because they where killing jews , hell we just got done killing 59 million indians you think a couple a million anybodies matterd to us NO it did not the swaztika is a religous symbol from the time before the flood back when we where creators hitler wanted to give the the cure for everything but the would not have that they cant make money or keep us as slaves with free power and no sickness reaserch people and dont belive a thing they tell you absolutly everything is a LIE.good luck folks

  35. Officially the most mistakes ever in one video. Did you even Wikipedia search this stuff let alone do some real research? Obviously not.

  36. Sgt. Melford M.Smith was a tank commander w/Gen.Patton> He said Patton used Shermans like Aritillery to SMASH Panzer 1V by use of TOT (Time On Target) so a truckload of steel dropped out of the sky to SMASH the suspension system of the Panzer, nevermind Armor remained intact & that's how Patton defeated Afrika Corps> Also fought in 12 hr shifts 24/7 so Germans got NO sleep

  37. Grotesque ignorance! Was this intentional? Is this entire video just a YouTube joke to fool gullible idiots with a lot of lies?

  38. Very interesting vid ! thank you.
Funny to see how many people react … based on wrong infos they have. Anglo -saxons are kings in rewriting history. Then you come with the real info … and it is considered wrong.

There are some mistakes though, and Germany did not invent only that … many more things … most not even in the military field.

They were in andvanced and they were not what today's history say they were. They had the first campaign against smoking, the first society for animal and environment protection … and many more things.

  39. The amount of mistakes and just plain incorrect facts in this video is insane. You video is bad you should feel bad. Do yourself a favor avoid military history and any topics on military weapons or technology.

  40. Decent video but many technical issues and specific details are completely wrong or misunderstood by the narrator.

  41. Thing is for the first half of the was thy was fighting ageists farmers and the french as soon as Russia and america got in on it thy lost

  42. the picture at 3.04 minutes is a czech soldier with VZ58 assault rifle and IR Device, well post-war, not a German in ww2…

  43. Cannon?  It's a fucking GUN. Barrel Impulse? You mean Recoils? Assault rifle? You mean Battle rifle? Holy fuck.!!!

  44. So what, the Germans had this kind of airplane and you Americans took charge of this new technology and how many other new technologies of the Germans were orignally developed by them and the US wanted these new discoveries.l

  45. Funny thing about that Cannon on rails was not destroyed by the Germans, it was blown up by our allies, and that fat worthless piece of dog crap did not envent that bomber, I'd say no more videos until you have your facts straight. Period end of story
