The firm has a 70 year illustrious track record of manufacturing in India for Indian and international clients(British and USA forces) these exports by this firm was in a collaboration with its 2 partners 1 LMT: Lewis machine tool, USA based Company, and 2. CBC defence so after working with them SSS defence got much more experience to design and develop its own SNIPER GUN, and that is what the CEO of company has to say and SSS Rifle are very much inspired by their collaborative product and its designing is complete indigenous CEO of SSS defence says “We are the first to indigenously design and develop sniper rifles. We’ve not acquired ready-made technology from abroad to only assemble.” CEO SSS says we are not only going to offer the weapon, but also provide a complete solution giving users ammunitions, optics and other accessories necessary to operate the weapon, makes us unique. and we are planning to explore chances to export our own sniper rifle, it has already proved its mettle in the USA on their standard parameters, and its now ready for user trials The army has been looking to acquire sniper rifles, which has been delayed because of the 20 firms that participated in a tender issued last year, none offered ammunition, SSS is the single indi firm offering AMMU too SSS Defence has developed two rifles: Viper, chambered for .308/7.62x51mm cartridge While Viper has proved its accuracy from a distance of more than 1,000 metres and 2nd Rifle is Saber, chambered for .338 Lapua Magnum cartridge. Saber has proved it on a 1,500 metres range. The Minute of Angle (MoA), which is used to measure the accuracy of rifles, the firm claimed, is best in the class, comparable to global weapons. So technically if u categorise the snipers on the basis of its weight, this one is going to top the list and CEO krisanan added to its praise by saying that they are impervious to foul weather conditions, and hot/cold temperature extremes. The rifle has an ergonomically adjustable shoulder stock, which will prove very useful for our armed forces, which have men and women from different parts of the country who are built differently So far, the firm has invested nearly Rs 20 crore in the business if small arms, optics and ammunition and has started work on building an 80,000 sqft arms factory at Jigani. This facility will be manufacturing arms and have a capacity to make 15,000 arms per annum from day one of the first phase.
